Position Overview

Bloom Talent Solutions is seeking an Operations Manager to take full ownership of day-to-day field operations for a growing residential landscaping company in the Tampa market.

This is a hands-on, high-autonomy role designed for a leader who thrives in the field. You will oversee crews, ensure quality execution, and serve as the key point of accountability for both operations and customer experience.

This opportunity is ideal for someone coming from a larger landscape company who is ready to step into a role with real ownership, visibility, and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations & Production

  • Manage and oversee 4–5 residential maintenance crews, with plans to scale
  • Conduct site visits and enforce quality standards across all jobs
  • Ensure crews are meeting production, efficiency, and service expectations

Scheduling & Dispatch

  • Own crew scheduling, routing efficiency, and dispatch readiness
  • Ensure all crews are properly equipped with tools, vehicles, and materials
  • Improve routing and scheduling to maximize productivity

Customer Experience

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer issues and service recovery
  • Ensure customer concerns are handled quickly and professionally
  • Maintain strong client satisfaction and retention

Equipment & Operational Readiness

  • Oversee equipment and fleet maintenance
  • Ensure preventative maintenance processes are followed
  • Minimize downtime and operational disruptions

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and manage crew-level employees
  • Set expectations, provide coaching, and handle performance management
  • Build a reliable and accountable field team

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate daily with office staff and sales team
  • Support enhancement work including scoping, estimating, and project coordination
  • Ensure alignment between scheduling, operations, and customer follow-through

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Industry Experience: Background in residential or commercial landscaping or related field services
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage multiple crews and drive accountability
  • Operational Mindset: Strong understanding of routing, scheduling, and production efficiency
  • Customer-Focused: Ability to manage service issues and maintain client satisfaction
  • Hands-On: Comfortable working in the field in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years in operations or production management within landscaping or the green industry
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple crews simultaneously
  • Strong people leadership and coaching skills
  • Systems-oriented with the ability to build and enforce processes
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with top landscape companies (BrightView, Yellowstone, Ruppert, ValleyCrest, TruGreen, etc.)
  • Exposure to enhancement work (estimating, scoping, project coordination)
  • Experience in residential landscape operations
  • Familiarity with field management or scheduling software

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Salary: $80,000–$85,000 (based on experience)
  • Company Vehicle provided
  • Quarterly Performance Bonus tied to production and quality metrics
