Landscape Architect / Designer + Project Manager

Telluric Landscapes | Santa Rosa, CA | Hybrid

Telluric Landscapes is a women-owned design/build studio creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces from concept drawings through final construction. We work on distinctive residential projects across Marin, Napa, and Sonoma, and we’re looking for a designer who loves both the big picture and the technical details.

We’re hiring a Landscape Architect / Designer + Project Manager who can move confidently between design, documentation, and construction coordination. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating, drawing, problem-solving, client communication, and seeing thoughtful design become a built reality.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and support projects from schematic design through construction.
  • Design full landscape plan sets and 3D renderings in Vectorworks.
  • Measure sites, work from surveys and field data, and develop accurate site plans.
  • Create planting plans, hardscape layouts, grading, drainage, irrigation, lighting, and utility coordination drawings.
  • Prepare permit documents for city and county review.
  • Collaborate with clients, subs, architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Attend site meetings, track action items, and help keep projects moving.
  • Assist with material selection, takeoffs, budgeting, and construction coordination.

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of experience drafting and designing landscape plan sets.
  • Strong Vectorworks skills and comfort with 3D drafting/rendering (CAD skills are transferable)
  • Solid knowledge of planting design, irrigation systems, and construction details.
  • Experience with permitting, construction documentation, and project coordination.
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
  • Advanced Google Sheets/Excel skills.
  • A design sensibility that has a refined aesthetic and is also practical, buildable and detail-oriented.
  • We’re especially interested in candidates who can design like a builder and build like a designer.

Nice to have

  • Experience working in a design/build environment.
  • Familiarity with construction administration and site observation.
  • Comfort working directly with clients and field teams.
  • Interest in learning new workflows or software if needed.

Compensation and benefits

  • Salary: $93,600–$114,400, depending on experience and skill set.
  • Medical insurance.
  • 401(k).
  • Flexible hybrid schedule.
