Tree Trimming

• Work from bucket trucks, hydraulic aerial lifts, ladders, and climbing spikes at considerable heights above the ground.
• Perform physically demanding tree maintenance and removal work.
• Operate and maintain a variety of equipment, including:
• Chainsaws
• Wood chippers
• Saws
• Stump grinders
• Cut down and remove:
• Dead or diseased trees
• Palm trees
• Fallen trees
• Perform tree lifting as needed.
• Remove tree debris and clean up work areas.
• Use hand tools and power tools, including:
• Handsaws
• Chainsaws
• Hedge trimmers
• Pole saws
• Prune and manage the growth of trees and shrubs.
• Trim, top, and reshape trees to:
• Remove low-hanging branches
• Improve the tree's appearance and shape
• Remove dead, damaged, or excess branches from trees.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Tree and palm trimming
• Cut away dead or excess branches and shrubbery.
• Use chain saws, pole saws, power pruners.
• Able to work crews to safely cut down limbs.
• Use lifts and power tools to gain access to high areas.
• Remove debris and take away large limbs for disposal.
• Utilize climbing equipment or buckets of extended truck booms.
• Use of rakes to clean up debris.
• Manage and coordinate with work crews.
• Have good communication skills.
• Operating chipper and branch removals
• Inspect trees to see if there are any issues, such as diseases, infections, insect damage or fungus.
• Ensure the worksite remains safe by putting up caution tape around the surrounding area if it is in a public space.
• Ground person experience required.

Requirements

• Previous Experience

• Ability to work outdoors in South Florida heat and weather conditions for extended periods

• Physically able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday

• Reliable transportation to and from the work site

• Punctual and dependable with a strong work ethic

• Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions from a crew leader

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
