Compensation: $85,000 to $120,000 Annually

Production Manager

The Production Manager owns everything that happens in the field: crew performance, route efficiency, quality standards, and labor cost. You are the link between what we promise clients and what our crews deliver. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows that landscape maintenance is won or lost on labor hours, route density, and site-level accountability.

This role comes with a company vehicle (take-home) and real room for growth as our operation scales.

Core Responsibilities

Crew & Labor Management

  • Direct supervision of maintenance crews and foremen; hiring, training, coaching, and performance management
  • Build and manage daily/weekly crew schedules and routes to maximize wrench time and minimize drive time
  • Own labor hours vs. budget by route and by account; flag and fix overruns weekly
  • Enforce start times, load-out standards, and end-of-day close-out procedures
  • Track and report daily labor performance: actual vs. estimated hours by crew, and $ earned per person/day on Tree/Enhancement/Irrigation crews
  • Manage attendance, timekeeping, and time-off requests; maintain accurate, signed timecard records in coordination with HR

Quality & Site Accountability

  • Conduct scheduled site inspections using company inspection forms; score sites, document deficiencies with photos, and assign corrective work with deadlines
  • Perform joint walks with property managers and HOA boards; close the loop on client punch lists
  • Identify enhancement and extra-work opportunities during inspections and hand off qualified leads to sales

Operations & Systems

  • Maintain job costing, scheduling, and crew data in our operations platform (Aspire experience strongly preferred)
  • Manage equipment fleet: preventive maintenance schedules, repairs, replacement planning; oversee vehicle and PPE inspection compliance
  • Manage irrigation program: controller checks, break repairs, water management for client budgets

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety program: tailgate meetings, PPE, vehicle inspections, incident reporting
  • Ensure compliance with California wage-and-hour requirements (meal/rest breaks, timekeeping) and Cal/OSHA standards

What Success Looks Like

  • Direct labor as a % of maintenance revenue at or below target
  • Every account inspected on cadence with documented scores; deficiency close-out rate above 90%
  • Client retention improved; zero accounts lost due to quality
  • Enhancement leads generated from field inspections each month

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in commercial landscape maintenance operations, with 2+ years managing multiple crews
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of irrigation systems, plant health, and SoCal plant material

  • Valid CA driver's license and clean driving record
  • QAL/QAC license or C-27 experience a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • $85,000–$120,000/year base salary (depending on experience)
  • Company vehicle — take-home, gas paid
  • Room for growth as the company scales
  • [Add: health benefits, PTO, other perks as applicable]
