Landscape Laborer

MEH Groundworks is seeking a dependable and hardworking Landscape Laborer to assist with commercial and residential landscape installation and maintenance projects. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, follows instructions, works well as part of a team, and is committed to completing projects safely and efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform mowing, string trimming, edging, and blowing of landscaped areas and hard surfaces.
• Install trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses, flowers, and other plant material.
• Install mulch, decorative rock, landscape fabric, and steel or plastic edging.
• Assist with sod installation, seeding, soil preparation, and finish grading.
• Assist with irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repairs.
• Dig trenches and planting holes using hand tools and powered equipment.
• Load, unload, move, and organize plants, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Perform landscape bed maintenance, including pruning, weeding, cleanup, and debris removal.
• Read and follow basic landscape plans, planting plans, and project instructions.
• Operate hand tools and landscape equipment safely and responsibly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
• Follow company safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Complete additional landscape and general labor duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous landscaping, construction, irrigation, or outdoor labor experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Dependable transportation and consistent attendance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.
• Willingness to learn new skills and accept direction from supervisors.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, push, and pull throughout the workday.
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, dust, and other changing weather conditions.
• Ability to safely use shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, trimmers, mowers, and other landscape equipment.

Work Schedule

Work schedules may vary depending on weather, project requirements, and seasonal workload. Early mornings, extended hours, and occasional weekend work may be required.
